Precipitating Genomic DNA
Description: DNA is precipitated by the addition of sodium acetate and ethanol. The precipitated DNA can be wound on a glass rod and removed from solution. This demonstration can be expanded to show the precipitation of DNA that was extracted from banana or onion.
